Time for another round of checkIN & checkOUT, a look at some of my favorite recipes, cocktails, products, projects & new finds from around the web. I was hoping to be in full spring mode by now, but the chilly, blustery weather just doesn’t want to quit! Anyway here’s what I’m loving lately…
checkOUT: Roasted Garlic and Aspargus Soup Recipe
This is the time of year when asparagus starts coming into season and I love it. One of my favorite things to do with it is to throw it on the grill…but since we’re not quite there yet, weather-wise, I’m anxious to try this soup recipe from Diethood. It’s simple and light, perfect for this time of year when we start to get busier and start worrying about the upcoming bathing suit season (eeeek!)
checkOUT: Spring Sangria at Eat. Drink. Love.
You guys, if you haven’t figured it out yet, I love me a good sangria recipe! People love it, it looks pretty, tastes great, it’s easy to throw together and make ahead and there are so many variations…you really can’t go wrong with serving sangria if you’re having people over or throwing a party! And this Spring Sangria looks amazing…
checkOUT: My Navy Hunter Boots
I was so sick of my winter boots and felt like I couldn’t put them on one more day, so now I’m living in these rain boots. Perfect for all the rain (and snow!) we’ve been having here in New England! But these are cute and practical and I can run all around town without worrying about soggy sneaks. And when we’re finally able to get out and plant, my Hunters will be perfect for the garden too!
checkOUT: 12 Simple Gardening With Kids Projects & Ideas from Babble
This is a great list of projects to get you outside with the kids…from science projects to fairy gardens to a DIY watering can…there are lots fun things to do with kids of all ages. I’m going to have my kids get on making some kind of cool garden markers during their spring break next week!
checkOUT: Pixi Glow Tonic at Target
So every year, about a month or so before my birthday, I start obsessing over my skin. I decide I need a whole new routine and do lots of research on products. I usually abandon the whole effort by the end of May, but it makes me feel better to at least try. Anybody have any good products to recommend? I’m in need of something deep-cleaning, anti-aging, smoothing and that makes me look like I get a good night’s sleep every night. Ready? Go….
While I wait to hear back from you, I’m going to give this Pixi Glow Tonic a try. I’ve been hearing lots of good things about this stuff, and you can pick it up right in Target! I’ll report back…
I hope you enjoyed this week’s list, and please come back and checkIN next week to checkOUT some more great finds!
And if you try any of these recipes, products or projects, please take a photo and share with me on Instagram with #checkincheckoutfriday!
