Happy Friday! Today is the last day of school for my kids and we are all thrilled! This is the earliest we’ve ever been done with school, but we’re still anxious to be in full summer mode. The kids have been impatiently waiting to get back to sleeping in and long days with friends at the pool and no homework…and I can’t blame them! We’ve had a great year and now we’ll move on to having all 3 kids at one school. My oldest will be in 5th grade, (his last year as a grade schooler…how is that possible?!) my daughter will be in 3rd grade and my little guy will be starting the preschool program 2 days a week. I can’t even believe the time has come when they’ll all be in school!
The other thing I can’t believe is that Father’s Day is next weekend. If it has snuck up on you too, then read on! I’m sharing some fun gift ideas and some good recipes you might want to make and treat the dads in your life…
checkOUT: the S’well Bottle Wood Collection
I’ve already sung the praises of my S’well bottle a few months ago, and I still love it just as much. These come in so many fun colors, but I’m loving the masculine feel of the Wood Collection. I think this would make a great gift for a dad!
checkOUT: Viva Sol Resin Bocce Ball Set
My husband loves sports and backyard games. Horseshoes, frisbee, wiffle ball…you name it and he’s the first to start up a game. One thing I’ve always wanted to get him is a nice Bocce Ball set and this one by Viva Sol is so cool. It comes in a beautiful wooden case which even has a handy bottle opener built right in!
checkOUT: Free Printable Father’s Day Survey
How adorable are these free printable Father’s Day surveys? They were created by Laura at Sunny Day Family and I just know my kids would love to fill these out and present them to Adam! Older kids can fill them out by themselves and for little ones, have them dictate their answers for you to write down. Laura suggests laminating them or putting them in a frame. You know how I feel about creating traditions and preserving memories so I’m just loving the idea of doing these yearly to see how the answers change!
checkOUT: 19 Burgers You Really Need to Make This Summer
I’m willing to bet alot of dads out there love to grill. I know Adam’s idea of a great Father’s Day afternoon would be just hanging out, having a beer and making burgers for dinner. One of the nice things about grilling is you can easily customize the menu to fit your crowd…kids want hot dogs? No problem…just throw a few on. A vegetarian in the group? Just grill up a veggie burger! This list on Buzzfeed by Rachel Sanders – 19 Burgers You Really Need to Make This Summer – is an awesome collection of veggie, beef and alternative burger recipes. Check it out!
checkOUT: the Ultimate Bloody Mary
Another thing I know Adam would enjoy on Father’s Day is a fantastic Bloody Mary. Over the years, we’ve tried different mixes, recipes and additions in search of the perfect version of this classic cocktail. Meghan at Cake ‘n Knife has shared her recipe for the Ultimate Bloody Mary and oh my word, it looks awesome! We will certainly be giving this one a try…
So I hope you enjoyed this week’s list! Start planning some fun things to do next weeknd to make Father’s Day great. Leave a comment below and share your plans and gift ideas below!

MMMMMM…burgers! I’m such a junk food addict — but those look delicious and way less junkie than fast food!

LOVE those burgers. I want one now!! I can’t wait to make some! I love the two gift ideas for dad too. Growing up we always played bocce ball and loved it.

Those burgers look amazing! One of my goals is to learn to barbecue this summer so I can recreate dishes like that!

Soooo I’m pregnant and that Bloody Mary is calling my name, I’m certain. I will be having that in 5ish months, guaranteed. And thanks for the ideas for Father’s Day, by the way. I’m terrible at shopping for men, but our family loves outdoor games and we don’t have a Bocce Ball set yet.

Erin…I’m thinking a Bloody Mary might be one of the few cocktails that could still be pretty tasty even if virgin. But that said 5 months from now, enjoy every sip of the real thing! And yes bocce is a great idea and a game that everyone can play!
