Baby carrots are a staple in our fridge. From snacking, to dipping, to chopping into a salad, I always have a use for them, so I always keep them on my grocery list. And when they are on sale, sometimes I end up with more baby carrots then we can snack on! But, it’s not a problem because they make for a perfect simple side dish, such as these Honey & Brown Sugar Baby Carrots.
This recipe is quick, requires zero prep and everyone loves these carrots. With only 4 ingredients, you can even decide on this dish at the last minute because I bet you have everything you need: butter, honey, brown sugar and the ready-to-go baby carrots.
A Tip:
Always keep baby carrots in the fridge. Since they are peeled and washed, they are perfect for snacking right out of the bag, dipping in ranch or hummus, or to make a quick and easy side dish at dinner time!
These Honey & Brown Sugar Baby Carrots are a great dish to have older kids help you with since it involves very basic skills…measuring and sautéing. As long as they are supervised at the stove, they can really handle this recipe from start to finish. Just melt the butter in a large skillet and drop in everything else. Let the carrots cook on medium-high, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are tender. It only takes about 15 minutes, but you can add a lid if you need them done even quicker!
You can add some chopped parsley if you want to fancy up this dish, but otherwise these are good to go without any additional seasoning. They are sweet and pair well with just about anything you’re serving. And as I tell my kids (and as I’m sure your parents told you) eating lots of carrots will give you good eyesight! Whether or not that’s really true, carrots definitely provide lots of vitamins and the sweet glaze makes them a hit with the little ones.
Give this one a try and let me know what you think! And if you make it with your kids, snap a pic a share it on Instagram using #thepreservesproject.

These were the very best carrots I’ve ever eaten! I used carrots straight from our garden so they were extra sweet and flavorful. This was so easy to make as well. This dish will be on our Christmas menu!

This will probably sound silly, but I have NEVER though about sautéing carrots like this. And I LOVE to cook. Sheesh. This is genius.
